As I alluded to the other day, I have a wedding quilt to make! I had toyed with the idea for awhile, but wasn't sure of the couple's personal style. I found their registry the other day and discovered a theme--neutrals, neutrals, and more neutrals. It's not a color scheme that I would usually go for (as one of my guild mate's puts it I'm fond of things that look like a rainbow threw up on it), but it's certainly one I can appreciate. All the same, I threw in a touch of dusky blue to add a little bit of "pop" to the color scheme.
At the same time, my guild was having a jelly roll race and I decided that a disappearing 9 patch made using strip piecing to get the original 9 patches would be just the thing.
The picture at the top of the post shows my first 9 patch sliced and rotated. I've started on sewing these together into 9 patches, but I have a ways further to go before I get them completed and start playing with layouts.
The wedding is in November, so this will be my main project until it gets done. : ) If I have enough time, I'm thinking I'll make some matching coasters too. ^_^
