This tree is always the first of our trees to bloom and, therefore, is one of my favorites. While winter is busy saying "YAY COLD!", this tree is busy thumbing its nose. I love it.
Still, it seemed like the buds opened earlier this year than they had before (which makes sense, this winter has been unseasonably warm), so I went back to check.
The verdict? Sort of. This is our third spring in the house. The picture above was taken on Feb 26th, so that means the flowers opened a bit earlier than last year, but a lot earlier than the year before that. See?

The weird thing is that we had a super cold winter last year which you think would have delayed the buds. The year before was pretty average, yet had the latest budding. Oh nature, you make no sense to me.
