We set up our Christmas tree today. After many years of real trees, we decided to go artificial. Not only is there no water for the cats to drink (read: spill) but going artificial meant we could get it set up early. So during yesterday's Black Friday deals, we picked up a tree and today we put it good use.
First we unboxed the tree. Take a good look, there is a chance it will never fit in there again.
Then we set the tree up in its stand and released the first row of branches.
After inspecting the general layout, we fluffed the needles to a more tree-like positions.
By the way? They are pretty serious about this safety warning stuff.
At this point, we had achieved a Christmas Bush. Husband provided for scale.
Of course, Jack had to give it his seal of approval too.
We added the second section of the tree.
And then repeated the fluffing process.
This is pretty exciting stuff.
The hubby instructed me to play it cool though, and channel Vanna White.
One more layer and we were in business!
Lights! Including the angel tree topper we inadvertently set to "twinkle" and can't figure out how to change back. And the string of lights on which half the bulbs are burned out.
Ornaments! Arranged from most tempting to cats at the top of the tree to least tempting near the bottom.
Tree Skirt!
And fin!
This looks way better than I thought an artificial Christmas tree could look!
ReplyDelete(But I love real candles on my tree, and that rules out the plastic tree)
You two are so cute! And your tree looks beautiful. Don't worry, it'll fit back into the box. I'm pulling mine out today. ^.^
ReplyDeleteSunneschii--They have gotten pretty good! This is one of the lower end ones, the pricer ones have firmer plastic needles instead of the thinner ones here, but they all look great from a distance. : )
ReplyDeleteAquariann--Thank you!That's good to know. : )
