The benefits of being a homeowner are slowly (oh so slowly) dawning on me. Today, as I stared at the bushes which last summer harbored wasps and this summer still harbor spiders and was annoyed at the proximity of all manner of bugs to where the patio table should be...it hit me. We don't have to have bushes there. We could pull them out and do any number of things. We could plant lower bushes. Build a barbeque area. Put in a vegetable garden. (Okay, that last one may be a bit of a reach since I have never liked gardening and we have deer who would love to munch on the fruits of our labors.) The point is--we can change it to whatever we like!
