I have a minor in fine art. Every so often the number of hours I spent staring at still lifes spills over into real life. Like yesterday, when I picked up a small bunch of flowers at the grocery store and arranged them in a pitcher (isn't it pretty?). Then I pulled river rocks out of another vase and added them to the pitcher so the flowers would stay just so. And scattered the extra around the bottom of the pitcher (much easier than actually putting the away!). Added a couple of tomatoes (because they had been looking amazing next to the empty pitcher for over a week) and a bunch of bananas (for balance) and voila! A still life as centerpiece. The kitchen is beautified.
