Last month, I bought one of those gel mats that I had been wanting forever. I was wonderful, dreamy, like standing on a cloud. The only problem was that once you have one, you quickly realize that there are different "standing stations" through the kitchen. So the mat was getting drug from island to stove to counter. Or, if too lazy to drag, the mat would stay put and I would just grouse. But my ever wonderful husband took a step towards fixing that. For my birthday this month, he bought me a second mat! (And apparently it was quite an adventure to find one that matched!). Now I can stand on a cloud for both prep work and cooking. Hurrah!
