Last weekend, the hubby and I had a brilliant evening.
First, we packed a picnic dinner.
Sandwiches on soft, fresh, bakery bread. Fresh fruit. Kettle chips. Homemade peanut butter cookies. And soda. And camp chairs.
Then we caught our carriage for the evening. The school bus was obviously built for wee ones, poor hubby had to sit sideways because his legs were too long for the seat.
Once we arrived at our destination, an old Limestone quarry, we "hiked" up a small hill to will call and picked up our tickets.
We picked out a good spot, set up our chairs, ate dinner, and waited for the show.
At 7pm sharp, the performers, singer/songwriters who play at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, began. We had the pleasure of listening to Karyn Rochelle, Kent Blazy, and Cory Batten. They were a fun group, chatting about the stories behind the songs, cracking jokes, and making impromptu changes to lyrics. And the weather? Perfect. The air was relatively still and while not warm, the cold wasn't distracting. As the show went on, night fell and soon we were listening to music under the stars.
It was a wonderful night and I'm already looking forward to next year!
