My daily contribution to my year long "Around the House" photo project. 365 photos. Blogged here.
I am flower ignorant. I can identify the basics--roses, daffodils, dandelions--but too far beyond that and I am clueless. I spent some time in the yard this afternoon, discovering that the white flowers on a front bush had matching friends on the bushes at the base of a tree. Pink and purple friends. They looked tropical to me, the long stamens reminding me of hibiscus. In a bit of serendipity, a friend posted images of the same flowers in her yard, also in bloom, and put a name to them--Azalea. A name I've heard a hundred times but never knew what they looked like. From all the buds on the bushes, we should have plenty of them very shortly.
