The afternoon light drew me into the spare room today. It's the furthest room in the house. Off the kitchen, beyond the garage and the half bath. We rarely have reason to venture in and it's mostly become a catch all for stuff. Our old coffee table, sleeping bags, boxes of files that were in the garage and now quite possibly contain bugs. The closet is filled with compacted boxes and similar miscellany. It's not a room I've ever quite figured out (Marble tiles? Why?) and for the most part it remains unremarked upon in my thoughts. But today, as I wandered in, I looked up and discovered the light fixture. Which is surprisingly beautiful. Clearly there is some larger purpose waiting to be found.
