The hubby and the cats are fighting a quiet war. The hubby places the blanket on the arm of the couch. The cats come along and knock it down...just enough to create a "nest". Meanwhile I fight my own battle. The couch cushions are just the right size and shape to lay out my shirts to dry on when they must be "laid flat to dry". The cats, quite naturally, think that these have been placed there for them to chew on and claw at. While we watch, the cats are quiet, unassuming. Curled up on the couch or elsewhere, napping and innocent. But should we turn our backs, they stir and quietly, quickly return to their mischief.
