One of the reasons that we have held off on purchasing furniture is to get a feel for what makes sense in the house. An excellent way to do that is to observe where stuff naturally collects. There are certain areas in a house that just seem to be natural drop off points. Given that the makeshift table, accidentally created out of incoming packages, is a malestorm of mail, umbrellas, and miscellaneous stuff I am thinking this would be a good place for some furniture. Something with a surface to catch mail, keys, pocket contents, etc. Cubbies to hold shoes. Hooks for jackets and umbrellas.
Now we just have to decide what. And exactly where to put it. And if this pattern will continue once we have the garage back.
