When I moved into my very first apartment, my parents gave me a couple of random nightstands they had sitting around, my childhood dresser, and the now infamous couch. In addition to recovering the couch, I also bought paint and "improved" the nightstands and dressers. The painting job is so very horrific, and the blue paint never fully dried but, at the time, I was ridiculously proud of myself. And I suppose that's all that matters.
Anyway, point being, when I painted this nightstand, I removed the handle, painted it, and promptly lost the screw. So for...nine years...I have carefully kept the handle with the nightstand, searching for first the screw, then any screw that would work. Finally, the other night, I decided to do something about it. I broke out the bag of random hardware and the drill and made it fit. And voila! The nightstand finally has a handle again! It looks funny to me now, I am so used to seeing it without... ; )
That's what I like to hear: a girl not afraid to mess with power tools. Good for you!
