Over the weekend, I got the starts of my art wall hung--all of the paintings/prints and shelves are up. I still need to fill out the shelves and I will clearly be forced (forced!) to buy more art to fill in the gaps. However, I knew one thing that absolutely and completely had to have a place on the shelves--a doll that is nearly as old as I am. When I was a very wee tot, a friend of my parents' went to Japan and brought back a delicate, collectible type doll for me. Since I was far to young for it, my parent's put it up and out of harms way. At 13, it came into my possession "officially". But, since it wasn't really to my taste, and I had no place to put it...it stayed in the original box. And then stayed at home when I went to college, only to be packed up and moved when we moved out here, buried deep in boxes and unburied during my cleaning purge this spring. So, despite this fact that this is quite possibly one of the oldest things in the house (and is older than the house itself, grok that), this is it's grand debut!
