These little bushes are persistent, aggressive, go-getters. They are the bane of my husband's landscaping duties. Trim them, shape them, guide them, and not two days later they will pop out with unruly feelers determined to take over the front of the house. Given the rainy state of the last two weeks, they had gotten quite out of hand. One had even begun to wend its way around the railing on the porch! The hubby knocked them back quite nicely today, giving each bush an even buzz cut. At least winter will come soon, ending this year's round of whack-a-mole.
