When I initially drew this mirror, I was thinking of the Women's Empowerment Street Team on Etsy. I wanted to create something that would fit with the ideals and ideas of that group. It seemed appropriate to choose and mirror and not an ACEO as the canvas to make a statement about beauty and stereotypes. While I worked, I was reminded of this mirror by dcdesigns on of my favorite Etsy shops.
I took words and phrases that described how I might feel about myself on a good day--discarding what women are "supposed" to be like and instead concentrating on who I am and what I strive to be. As in some of my previous pieces, the blank dragonling allows the viewer to transpose themselves as the subject.
The second piece I listed is another dragonling magnet. Belise is the dragonling of scarves.
On the magnet, she shows off one of her favorite scarves--handmade, of course.
That second mirror is awesome!
