Last December, it was in a FAE Treasury that I first spotted a stocking holder by FaeRealm. It was love at first sight. I had long been a fan of her highly detailed dragons but could never justify buying one ("What would I *do* with it?"). The stocking holder was the perfect answer. I mentioned it to my mom one day in a phone call without thinking too much of it.
Fast forward to Christmas Day when I unwrapped not one but TWO gorgeous dragon stocking holders. My mom had custom ordered them (one for me and one for my hubby). Each dragon sat on a silver snowflake and these were some heavy duty hangers--they were prepared for a stocking loaded down by Santa.
Naturally, the first thing I did was go put them up on a mantle to admire them from afar. And that's when I realized there was one thing not quite right--my husband's dragon--a beautiful silvery blue, blended right into the snowflake. Since the whole point of the stocking holders was to showcase the gorgeous dragons, that just wouldn't do.
When I got home, I contacted FaeRealm and she was super nice. She had told my mom that if I had wanted something changed to just ship them back and she would replace it. And she stood by that promise. We talked about what I wanted done differently and why and then I boxed up the stocking holder and sent it back. Shortly thereafter I had a box holding the replacement in my hands. And I was nothing but delighted when I opened it. The little dragon now stands out much more and the quality and workmanship is absolutely amazing.
I am absolutely thrilled to own these beautiful pieces and am quite sure they will be treasured for years to come. The only problem? I can't bear to box them up! So, it's mid February and they are still sitting out on the dresser that makes do as our "mantle".
Gorgeous! I can't blame you for not wanting to put them away. I have a little dragon from FaeRealm, too, and just love him. Her workmanship is killer and you couldn't ask for a nicer person.
